Understanding Copyright

Copyright for original illustration, music and photography belongs to the creator. However, in some cases special written arrangements can be negotiated for copyright to be transferred to the customer.

An illustration for a brochure shouldn't show up on telly. Or on a bus. Or Poster.
Unless of course, you have purchased the rights.
Australian Graphic Design Association AGDA also has lots of information.
Copyright covers anything created such as illustration, certain design, music, text and much more.

Music

There are special licences for all kinds of situations including weddings and funerals, churches and public performances. Payment is made through APRA Australia.
