What do unicorns mean to me?
Contributions by various ages ... 2003
Jamison (age 6): They mean a lot to me because they are one of my favourite animals. They are delicate. They are like ballet dancers. One of the things they like doing is playing gentle games with their friends. Their favourite colours are red, white, pink and purple. They love sharing old memories. Their favourite food is custard pie with ice-cream and fairy floss. You will normally find them in the wild. They like flying under the colourful rainbow. They are very sweet, gentle, pretty and kind. they always like to be beautiful. That includes lipstick, dresses, mascara and shiny shoes. They love to dance and sing. They have names like Starlight, Angel, Zoe and Sarah. They love sunny days. They love swimming in a paddling pool. They are soft. they love playing with butterflies. They have nice jewellery. They are smart, intelligent, fun and cuddly. I LOVE UNICORNS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Betty (mature age): Unicorns mean mythical white fabled beasts resembling a horse with a long twisted horn set in the centre of its forehead. It was considered symbolic of Holiness and Chastity.
Judith (mature age): For me the unicorn is a poignant and happy reminder of the joy, beauty and magic of childhood fantasy. With a single horn symbolizing the union of opposites and inner creative power, the unicorn is my trustworthy transporter to other realms.
